TEDA Gains First Qualification of Bonded LNG Bunkering Pilots in North China
The Administrative Committee of China (Tianjin) Pilot Free Trade Zone issued a document granting CNOOC Tianjin New Energy Co., Ltd. the qualification of bonded LNG bunkering pilots for international ships. This marks the first qualification of bonded LNG bunkering pilots in North China acquired by TEDA. Tianjin has thus become the fourth region that can operate the bonded LNG bunkering business after Shenzhen, Ningbo and Shanghai. The pilots will provide significant support for the city to build an LNG warehousing, bunkering and trading center.
Going forward, CNOOC Tianjin New Energy Co., Ltd. will take CNOOC Group’s advantage of market resources integration and carry out in-depth cooperation with Tianjin’s LNG bonded tanks of PipeChina to proactively develop downstream bunkering clients and realize the first bunkering operation in Bohai Rim within this year.
Founded in 2009, CNOOC Tianjin New Energy Co., Ltd. is a subsidiary of CNOOC Gas & Power Group Co., Ltd., responsible for CNOOC Gas & Power Group’s vehicle refuelling business in Tianjin and the surrounding areas and the ship bunkering business in Bohai Rim. It currently operates 4 vehicle LNG refuelling stations in Tianjin.
