FAW-Volkswagen’s Tianjin Branch Rolls Out All-new Tayron L
A debut ceremony for the all-new Tayron L was held at the Tianjin plant of FAW-Volkswagen on 4th Nov. The model is a key part of FAW-Volkswagen’s continuous strategies of promoting both fuel vehicles (FVs) and electric vehicles (EVs) and advancing intelligent technologies for FVs and EVs. This will further enhance the automotive industrial chain in TEDA. The new Tayron L not only features larger body dimensions but also boasts redesigned exteriors and interiors. Particularly in terms of smart features, the vehicle’s driving assistance system, parking assistance system, and other technologies have been upgraded, significantly improving its safety, operability, and comfort. Gao Jiefang, Secretary of the Party Committee of FAW-Volkswagen Automotive Co., Ltd. Tianjin Branch, stated that the Tayron L upgrade project has an investment of over 2 billion yuan, with numerous new pieces of equipment added, further enhancing the intelligent technology for the Tianjin Branch.
Currently, TEDA has fostered an ecosystem of automotive industry dominated by leading automakers such as FAW Toyota, FAW-Volkswagen, Great Wall Motor, and Geely, and comprised of over 200 auto part suppliers and related service companies like Volkswagen Automatic Transmission, Denso Electronics, Vitesco Technologies, and Lizhong Wheel, with output value of automotive and high-end equipment exceeding 200 billion yuan. In recent years, TEDA has continued to enhance its industrial chain layout by introducing new projects. The new Tayron L upgrade project has also attracted multiple tier-1 supplier projects to TEDA, including the Hella Faway Automotive Lighting production base with annual capacity of 458,000 sets and Grammer’s smart passenger seats production project. These projects have further enhanced the supporting capacity for the area’s automotive industry.
