A ceremony for the Beijing Gas Tianjin Nangang LNG Emergency Reserve Project was held in TEDA Nangang Industrial Zone to celebrate the full production. The project, with a total investment of 20.1 billion yuan and an area of 530,000 square meters, consists of an LNG receiving terminal, a dock, storage tanks, transmission pipelines, and related auxiliary facilities. Construction began in March 2020, and the project was fully operational by December 2024. Upon completion, the project achieves an emergency reserve capacity of 1 billion cubic meters, an annual LNG unloading capacity of 5 million tons, and a maximum daily gasification transmission capacity of 60 million cubic meters. It will support Nangang Industrial Zone in becoming the largest LNG energy base in northern China and an energy reserve hub for the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, contributing to energy security for the capital and promoting coordinated regional development.

Beijing Gas Group, the largest urban gas supplier in China, leads in pipeline network scale, number of gas users, annual gas consumption, and annual sales revenue nationwide. The group has registered three independent legal entities in TEDA: Beijing Gas Group (Tianjin) LNG Co., Ltd., Beijing Gas Group (Tianjin) Natural Gas Sales Co., Ltd., and Beiran Energy Development (Tianjin) Co., Ltd., to engage in port storage, trade services, and new energy-related businesses.
