TEDA’s Co. to Open New Bullet Train in 2027
Tianjin-Weifang-Suqian High-Speed Railway Co., Ltd. was recently established in TEDA with a registered capital of 73.713 billion yuan. The company is responsible for the investment, construction, and operation and management of its project for the Tianjin-Weifang-Suqian High-Speed Railway, with a total investment of approximately 150 billion yuan.
The Tianjin-Weifang-Suqian High-Speed Railway is a key component of the Beijing-Shanghai Auxiliary Corridor and the Coastal Corridor for the Eight Verticals and Eight Horizontals High-Speed Rail Network in China Medium and Long Term Railway Network Plan. The total length of the rail line is approximately 747 kilometers. The Tianjin-Weifang section starts from Binhai Railway Station in Tianjin and ends at Weifangbei Railway Station in Shandong, covering 349 kilometers, and is planned to be completed and operational in 2027. The Weifang-Suqian section starts from Weifangbei Railway Station in Shandong and ends at Yanghebei Railway Station in Suqian, Jiangsu, spanning 398 kilometers. Once fully operational, the Tianjin-Weifang-Suqian High-Speed Railway is expected to establish a new rapid southbound rail corridor and further enhance high-speed rail coverage in TEDA and Tianjin. This will continue to promote coordinated development within the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, and strengthen fast transportation connections between Tianjin, Beijing, Hebei, Shandong, the Yangtze River Delta, and other regions in China.
