TEDA Welcomes New Heavyweight Project

The TEDA SHPHOTONICS Metasurface Optics Project was launched on January 3 in TEDA West. The first Phase involves a total investment of approximately 545 million yuan and is expected to be completed and become operational by December 2026. The project will address technical shortcomings in China’s metasurface optics sector, driving the transformation of the traditional optics industry into integrated optics and intelligent photonics. It will also attract upstream material and equipment manufacturers as well as downstream modular factories and OSATs to establish operations in Tianjin, creating a globally leading hub for emerging industries. This will support Tianjin in achieving breakthroughs in cultivating new production capacities.

The innovative “Experts + Dual Stewardship” service mechanism proposed by TEDA has introduced ensuring comprehensive, end-to-end project tracking services. Thanks to close collaboration among various departments, it took just 41 days for the company to progress from signing a land contract to obtaining a construction permit.
