3 TEDA-based Companies to Establish Innovation Consortia

Tianjin Municipal Science and Technology Bureau recently announced the List for Establishing Tianjin Innovation Consortia. 12 companies were on the list. Among these, 3 TEDA-based tech enterprises, namely CNPC BOHAI Equipment Manufacturing Co., Ltd., CanSino Biologics Inc., and PipeChina Engineering Technology Innovation Co., Ltd., were approved to establish 3 consortia. These consortia focus on cutting-edge fields such as carbon capture and utilization, nucleic acid vaccines and drugs, and oil and gas storage and transportation. They aim to provide critical support for Tianjin’s industrial transformation and upgrading, industrial chain security, and green development goals.

Driven by major scientific and technological missions, innovation consortia leverage market-based mechanisms to accelerate joint efforts in overcoming key technical challenges and enhancing the transfer and commercialization of scientific and technological achievements. This approach aims to comprehensively strengthen the core competitiveness of key industries in TEDA. Moving forward, TEDA will enhance the top-level design of its science and technology policies, further supporting the consortia in tackling core technological breakthroughs and establishing an operational mechanism based on collaboration, co-construction, resource sharing, and mutual development. TEDA will also encourage consortium members to work together to invest here and develop the area, fostering the growth of more high-quality local tech enterprises, creating industrial clusters, and accelerating Tianjin’s industrial transformation and upgrading.
