New Materials Co. Completes Project Acceptance

On January 16, Tianjin TIANCHENG New Materials Co., Ltd. completed the acceptance for its project, which is to produce glycine with an annual output of 30,000 tons by utilizing hydrocyanic acid, a byproduct of acrylonitrile. The company has obtained the Construction Project Acceptance Certificate, laying a solid foundation for upcoming production.

The glycine project is located in TEDA Nangang Industrial Zone, with a total investment of 700 million yuan. It includes a 100,000-ton-per-year aldehyde unit, a 56,000-ton-per-year hydroxy nitrile unit, a 130,000-ton-per-year glycine unit, and a 7,000-ton-per-year sodium cyanide emergency unit. Once completed, the project will achieve an annual production capacity of 20,000 tons of industrial-grade glycine and 10,000 tons of food-grade glycine. By utilizing hydrocyanic acid, a byproduct generated during acrylonitrile production at Nangang 1.2 million-ton-per-year ethylene project, as its raw material, the project will realize next-door raw material supply, contributing to the chemical industrial chain of hydrogen cyanide.
