TEDA Announces Focus for Industry Development in 2025

On January 21, the 2025 Work Conference of Tianjin Economic-Technological Development Area (TEDA) was successfully held. In the coming year, TEDA will adhere to the principle of pursuing progress while maintaining stability, actively shaping new competitive advantages, fostering new quality productive forces, expanding openness, and injecting new momentum to the area.

TEDA will seize major national strategic opportunities by leveraging its unique functional integration of “Economic-Technological Development Area + National Independent Innovation Demonstration Zone + Pilot Free Trade Zone + Financial Innovation Zone + Technological Innovation Zone”. Efforts will focus on expediting the implementation of ongoing projects, including accelerating the breaking ground of 30 major projects, such as New Hope Group’s projects with a total investment of ¥22.5 billion, and advancing the construction of 140 projects, including Novo Nordisk’s new filling plant, with a total investment of ¥166.4 billion. Additionally, TEDA will support the production and efficiency of 30 projects, including Nippon Paint, with a total investment of ¥22.1 billion.

TEDA will prioritize high-end, green, and digital industrial development to drive transformation. In the field of automotive industry, TEDA will enhance the Geely methanol vehicle ecosystem and expand demonstration scenarios for FAW Toyota’s hydrogen-powered commercial vehicles. In terms of electronics and IT, TEDA will promote key projects such as Sunway Optoelectronics and the joint testing laboratory of CATARC and OmniVision North, facilitating full-chain coverage of automotive chip development. In the sector of healthcare, TEDA aims to establish the largest nucleic acid industrial base in northern China and advance the industrialization of nucleic acid veterinary drugs. In addition, TEDA will encourage the “intelligent transformation, digital upgrade, and network integration” of its manufacturing sector, actively develop the city’s model digital industrial zone, and create a robust digital industry development ecosystem.
