2025 International Chinese Course Begins
The International Chinese Course for the 2025 spring semester at TEDA Community College was opened the other day. 16 students from Russia, Nepal, Afghanistan and other countries attended class. This is the 12th consecutive year for the college to carry out free Chinese courses for local expatriates, with more than 1,000 people taking the course. This not only creates a good atmosphere of international community, but also helps optimize the business environment of TEDA and Tianjin.
The curriculum was rich and diversified, which set up professional Chinese training and provided Chinese cultural activities including calligraphy, painting, Tai Chi. It is committed to telling Chinese stories and carrying forward the excellent traditional Chinese culture. Muharami from Tanzania said, “Thank you to the college for creating the opportunity to learn Chinese in such a wonderful environment, and I look forward to gaining knowledge here with my classmates.” Nadezhda from Russia said she loves Tianjin and often shares her life in Tianjin with her friends and relatives far away from Russia. She also invited them to visit Tianjin.
Chen Liang, president of the community college, introduced, “We use open thinking to create international integrated community education. We are committed to enhancing the international influence of lifelong education in Tianjin Binhai New Area and TEDA, so that every resident, no matter what country they come from, can feel the warmth of their home, the charm of culture and the goodwill of Tianjin people on this land.” Going forward, the community college will further enrich the course by adding Chinese song learning, intangible cultural heritage exhibition, etc. Expatriates will experience traditional Chinese culture while learning Chinese. The international popularity and reputation of Tianjin will continue to improve.
