TAW 8-speed Automatic Transmission Project Launched

Recently, Tianjin AW AUTOMATIC Transmission Co., Ltd. (TAW) officially launched the 8-speed automatic transmission project. The transmission adopts the world’s most advanced gearbox production technology, which can be applied to traditional power vehicles and also be directly used in hybrid vehicles after installing motor. With a total investment of 230 million yuan, the project is scheduled to be put into production in October 2022. At that time, TAW will become the third production base of 8-speed automatic transmission for AW Group in the world.

Founded in March 2004, TAW was jointly invested by the world’s leading automatic transmission brand AW Corporation and China First Automobile Co., Ltd. The company is the first enterprise located in TEDA West. With TEDA’s solid automotive industry base and fully-fledged industrial chain, TAW has developed rapidly and has become one of the main suppliers of FAW-Toyota Tianjin branch.
