Immerse in Tianjin Along the Haihe River

Recently, the online themed promotional activity of Immerse in Tianjin along the Haihe River was officially launched.

Haihe River is the mother river of Tianjin, not only for the people that live by the river, but also for buildings constructed along it that have relied on the nourishment of the river basin to thrive. Our reporter joined the Tianjin interview team as they traveled along the Haihe River to Hedong district. The first stop of the interview was the Sino Russian style street project located at the intersection of Six Latitude Road and Eleven Longitude Road in the district.

Strolling along Zhonghai Russian-style street, the heavy influence of Russian architecture can be felt, with Russian-style spires, the exquisite combination of bronze Russian dolls, music and art, and the Star Avenue of historical Russian figures. As the first Russian-style street in Tianjin, it is a vibrant and unique location with a distinctive culture and style.

Next, we arrived at a red brick architectural complex on the east bank of the Haihe River, which is also a popular online check-in destination for tourists and citizens - Tianjin Mianshan Creative Zone. This trendy street is a hotspot for youth and full of creativity. Formerly known as Tianjin No.3 Cotton mill, it has a history of more than 100 years. More than 100 intangible cultural heritage, traditional folk customs, cultural and creative industries, and popular food stalls gather here, becoming a new highlight in Tianjin’s cultural and tourism industry.

Further down the river, Tianjin Juilliard consists of four multi facade venues, including a 690 seat concert hall, a 299 seat concert hall, a 225 seat black box theater, as well as administrative, faculty, and rehearsal spaces. Five cantilever skywalks span the wide-open public space, blending into the surrounding scenery.
