SEW Smart Assembly Center Project Begins Construction in TEDA

On February 8, the groundbreaking ceremony of the Smart Assembly Center Project of SEW-Eurodrive (Tianjin) Co., Ltd. started in TEDA. With a total investment of US$150 million, the project will adopt SEW’s core technology of intelligent logistics to build its smart manufacturing model factory in China. The project is scheduled to be completed and put into operation in the first half of 2024. The assembly center will continue to introduce electronic products of German intelligent manufacturing for localized production and to further provide system solutions for industrial upgrading of China’s intelligent equipment manufacturing industry.

SEW Group was founded in 1931, specializing in the production of electric motors, gear units and frequency control devices and related ancillaries. The group has mastered the core technology of German Industry’s 4.0 intelligent manufacturing. SEW China was established in 1994. Over the years, the company has been increasing its investment and expanding its production capacity, and has now developed into a nationally renowned industry leader. The construction of this new project is SEW Group’s recognition of the investment environment in the TEDA and reflects the company’s determination to root deeply into Tianjin’s soil.
