SRIPE Oilfield Chemicals Commercialization Center (Tianjin) Begins Construction

On March 18, the Sinopec Research Institute of Petroleum Engineering Oilfield Chemicals Commercialization Center (Tianjin) project officially started construction in Nangang Industrial Zone of TEDA. The first phase of the project involves an investment of 359 million yuan, primarily focusing on establishing a scientific research platform for oilfield chemicals, a quality testing platform, a small scale experiment zone for research achievements, and a pilot scale experiment & commercialization zone for polymerization and liquid synthesis. The goal is to create a research and commercialization base for high-end oilfield chemicals. This project, along with the scientific experiment bases of Sinopec Beijing Research Institute of Chemical Industry and Sinopec Research Institute of Petroleum Processing Co., Ltd, collectively form a technological R&D hub for the entire process of petroleum extraction, refining, and chemical engineering in the Nangang Industrial Zone. The significance lies in its contribution to the construction, improvement, and development of the technological innovation system of Sinopec, TEDA, and even the city of Tianjin.

Established in 2009, Sinopec Research Institute of Petroleum Engineering is one of the eight directly affiliated research institutes of Sinopec Corp. The institute has made breakthroughs in key technological bottlenecks with over 2,600 patent applications, such as the Gamma-At-Bit Imaging System, safe and fast drilling in deeper layers, intelligent drilling, and micro-nano drilling fluids with strong sealing performance.
