Fruitful Results in TEDA at World Intelligence Expo 2024
The World Intelligence Expo 2024 took place in Tianjin from June 20 to 23. This year’s expo, themed “Intelligence: Extensive Development Space, Sustainable Growth Driver”, was co-hosted by the Tianjin Municipal People’s Government and the Chongqing Municipal People’s Government. The event combined exhibitions, experiences, and competitions, attracting guests from 49 countries and regions and over 550 exhibitors of enterprises and institutions.
TEDA participated in various aspects of the expo. It not only signed and launched several intelligent projects but also guided and supported the hosting of multiple conferences. TEDA enterprises showcased their new products and technologies at the expo, demonstrating the area’s advancements in artificial intelligence to a global audience.
TEDA saw a series of intelligent projects with a total investment of 16.658 billion yuan established at the signing ceremony of key projects for the 2024 World Intelligence Expo. Covering fields such as biomedicine, high-end equipment, automobiles, light industry, and finance, these projects will inject strong momentum into the high-quality development of TEDA’s intelligent industries.
GreenPine (Tianjin) Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. high-end carbapenem formulation intelligent manufacturing project will establish an intelligent production line for dual-chamber powder-liquid bags. Once completed, it will become the largest ready-to-use dual-chamber bag production base in north China and China’s first full-category carbapenem R&D and production base.
In the automotive and high-end equipment sectors, the ZIGTOO (China) Flow Control Technology Co., Ltd. Intelligent Valve National Headquarters project will primarily produce intelligent control valves for new infrastructure. Kmuller (Tianjin) Automotive Co., Ltd. will invest in a luxury custom business vehicle project in TEDA, strengthening the automotive industry chain in the area.
The Green Production project, invested by Tianjin Seven Colors Packaging Co., Ltd., will focus on producing environmental-friendly kraft paper bags. Tianjin Kincheng Bank Co., Ltd. signed a strategic cooperation agreement with TEDA to further promote the development of intelligent financial services in Tianjin.
TEDA participated in several conferences during the 2024 World Intelligence Expo.
The SDSoW (Software Defined System on Wafer) Ecosystem Conference was guided by the TEDA Administrative Commission along with the Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence and other institutions. The conference shared cutting-edge insights on the SDSoW system and released 9 SDSoW technological achievements. Hong Shicong, Secretary of the Party Committee and Director of the TEDA Administrative Commission, highlighted the characteristics, layout, and development advantages of the integrated circuit industry in TEDA.
TEDA held the first AI-empowered New Industrialization Exchange Conference. This conference was hosted by the China Machinery Industry Federation (CMIF) and supported by the TEDA Administrative Commission and other entities. CMIF, China’s largest comprehensive machinery industry association, collaborated with TEDA, one of the best development areas in China, to provide a high-end communication platform for the industry. 23 high-quality industry reports were presented at the conference.
The third Tianjin Binhai-Zhongguancun Coordinated Innovation Development Exchange Conference was held in Beijing. This exchange focused on showcasing the high-quality development achievements of Tianjin Binhai-Zhongguancun Science Park in recent years, including institutional innovation, policy breakthroughs, industry aggregation, and coordinated development. The Binhai-Zhongguancun Achievement Transformation Center was inaugurated at the conference.
TEDA demonstrated the strength and innovative development of a national-level development area. Leveraging a strong manufacturing foundation, TEDA promotes industrial technology innovation to drive technological industrialization. In 2023, TEDA was home to over 1,100 high-tech enterprises and more than 1,200 technology-based small and medium-sized enterprises, showing robust growth momentum.
Cutting-edge technologies and products from TEDA-based high-tech enterprises took center at the expo, which featured 10 major exhibition areas, including artificial intelligence, intelligent connected vehicles, and intelligent manufacturing.
In the Artificial Intelligence and Provincial&Municipal Exhibition Area, Tianjin presented the practical achievements of writing a new chapter in Chinese modernization. TEDA companies were deeply involved in key city sectors such as biomedicine, intelligent equipment, green petrochemicals, and low-altitude economy. Rocor Medical, CanSino Biologics, and the Tianjin Modern TCM Innovation Center displayed “rocket heart” technology, innovative vaccines, and modern TCM (Traditional Chinese medicine) products. Leading companies like Sublue Intelligent Technology, Tianjin Lonyu Robot, EFY Intelligent Control (Tianjin) Technology, and Tianjin iKingTec Intelligent Technology showcased comprehensive technological products covering underwater, land, and air domains in the intelligent equipment sector.
The expo established an Intelligent Connected Vehicles Exhibition Area for the first time, where industry leaders FAW Toyota, FAW-Volkswagen, and Great Wall Motors presented representative intelligent connected vehicle products, allowing visitors to experience the joy of electrified, intelligent, and connected travel.
In the Information Technology Application Innovation Exhibition Area, Inspur Group exhibited intelligent software and hardware products and scenario solutions. The Tianhe-Tianyuan robot from the National SuperComputing Center in Tianjin interacted closely with the audience.
Also participating was Tianjin Rockcheck Investment Holding Group, ranked first in the 2023 Binhai New Area’s Top 100 Leading Private Enterprises list. The group comprehensively showcased its achievements in advancing high-end, intelligent, and green development.
Artificial intelligence has now become a key productivity driver in many sectors, including in TEDA. TEDA will fully leverage the power of AI to promote the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries, focus on developing strategic emerging industries, and plan for future industrial tracks, driving high-quality development in this region.
