Tianjin’s Binhai Projects for Biomedical Industry to Achieve ￥100 bln by 2025

The Binhai New Area in Tianjin projects its biomedical industry to achieve an annual income of 100 billion yuan($15.44 billion) by 2025.

The targets are fully justified by the sound industrial base and bright development prospects of Binhai.

Binhai is an important base for the biomedical industry in Tianjin. The biomedical industry is one of the four star strategic emerging industries in the area. The area has been recognized as part of the national first batch of national strategic emerging industrial clusters.

To achieve the goal, the industrial structure will be steadily optimized, forming industry clusters worth tens of billions yuan in fields such as biomedicine, chemical medicine, medical equipment, and modern Chinese medicine.

They will be closely integrated to form an international competitive, innovative and balanced biomedical piloting zone, with characteristic subdivisions and comprehensive medical product varieties.

In 2020, the district's biomedical industry output value was 40.25 billion yuan, accounting for 64.2 percent of the city's biomedical output.
