Tianjin Dispatches over 12,000 TEUs on China-Europe (Central Asia) Freight Trains in Jan-Feb

03-16-2026

A report from en.tj.gov.cn Mar. 12th, 2026:

Tianjin Port dispatched 117 China-Europe (Central Asia) freight trains carrying 12,558 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) from January to February, up 5.4 percent and 4.6 percent year-on-year, respectively.

The steady growth of the Tianjin-Europe (Central Asia) freight train service reflects China's continued efforts to advance high-level opening-up. The service now covers the eastern, central, and western railway corridors, injecting fresh momentum into high-quality Belt and Road Initiative cooperation and providing strong support for regional economic development.

According to Yang Xuehua, manager of an international freight forwarding company, demand for rail freight services in Tianjin has increased significantly. After the SCO summit last year, Tianjin launched a new scheduled service to Horgos in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, attracting more clients outside of Tianijn.

To ensure smooth operations, Tianjin Customs has introduced a green channel and one-stop services for China-Europe freight trains, allowing rapid customs clearance and improving logistics efficiency.
