Several Capital Increment and Capacity Expansions in TEDA


Novo Nordisk’s Tianjin Production Plant is one of Novo Nordisk’s global strategic production plants and its only global supplier of insulin durable injection devices as well as the largest insulin formulation and filling production site. In 2021, Novo Nordisk completed its 8th capital increase in Tianjin with USD 150 million injected to introduce three new production lines, etc. In October 2022, Novo Nordisk Tianjin Production Plant started the construction of an elevated stereoscopic warehouse. The new warehouse, expected to be delivered at the end of 2024, is key to Novo Nordisk’s further capital increase and capacity expansion in Tianjin.


Nestlé

Capital Increase by Nearly 1 Billion Yuan in Two Years


TEDA is one of the important bases for Nestlé’s growth in China. In May 2020, Nestlé invested an additional RMB 730 million for its first plant-based production line in Asia, the expansion of its existing pet food plant in Tianjin, the upgrading of its “Cheng Zhen” wafer production line and the capacity expansion of Nestlé’s Quality Assurance Center in Tianjin. In March 2021, Nestlé announced the launch of a two-phase investment project for its dry pet food and wet canned pet food production lines in TEDA, with an additional investment of RMB 230 million. So far in just two years, Nestlé’s total investment in TEDA has reached nearly 1 billion yuan.


Meiji Diary

Tianjin Plant to Start Production in 2023


Meiji Dairy Tianjin Plant is the second dairy product manufacturing plant invested by Meiji Holdings Corporation, Japan’s largest food conglomerate, in China. The project is located in TEDA West with a total investment of approximately US$300 million, mainly for the production of cold fresh milk, yogurt and cream. The project started construction in 2020, passed the completion inspection at the end of 2021, and is expected to be put into operation in 2023.


Mars

Building its Largest Pet Food Factory in Asia


In December 2020, the launch ceremony of Mars Tianjin Pet Food Plant was held in TEDA. With an investment of more than US$100 million, the plant will reach an annual production capacity of more than 250,000 tons and will, for the first time, achieve intelligent and green pet food production. After the completion of the project, it will become the largest modern pet food factory of Mars in Asia.
