FAW-Volkswagen North China Base Rolls off Its One Millionth Vehicle


With the completion of a starry blue Tayron GTE, the FAW-Volkswagen North China Base achieved the production milestone of one million vehicles. Established in 2018 in TEDA, this facility stands as Volkswagen Group’s most advanced factory worldwide. Remarkably, it took only five years for the Base to reach the goal of producing one million complete vehicles, making it a model for intelligent manufacturing and a benchmark for green ecology. Since its inception, the FAW-Volkswagen North China Base has offered employment opportunities for 60,000 people throughout the automotive supply chain, while local suppliers have contributed an impressive 12 billion yuan in production value.

Concentricus Establishes High-Performance Polymer Materials Production Facility in Nangang Industrial Zone


The TEDA Administrative Commission has signed an investment cooperation agreement with Concentricus PTE Ltd. from Singapore. The company will establish a high-performance polymer materials production facility in Nangang Industrial Zone of TEDA. The total investment in this base is 2.1 billion yuan. Once completed, it will fill the gaps in domestic polymer materials industry.

Jinke Household Chemical’s New Materials Project Settles in Nangang


Jinke Household Chemical’s new materials project has settled in the Nangang Industrial Zone of TEDA. With a total investment of 850 million yuan, this project is planned to be constructed in two phases. Its annual production capacity can reach 100,000 tons of sodium percarbonate and related downstream household chemical raw materials. This project is an important move by Zhejiang Jinke Household Chemical Materials Co., Ltd. to strengthen its presence in the Northern China market. Through completion and operation, it will play a positive role in extending the industrial chain of Nangang Industrial Zone.

SSTPC 260KTA PC Project Commences Commercial Operations


The 260,000 tons/year PC project of SINOPEC SABIC Tianjin Petrochemical Co., Ltd., commenced commercial operations in the Nangang Industrial Zone of TEDA. The project utilizes an advanced non-phosgene melt process and features two PC production lines, each with a capacity of 130,000 tons per year. These production lines can manufacture various PC products, including blends, extrusion grades, and injection grades. The primary focus will be supplying the electrical and electronic, as well as the construction and building materials industries in China.

Lindstrom Opens Its First Domestic Electronic Cleanroom in TEDA


A Finnish century-old textile service giant Lindstrom officially launched its first cleanroom in China to provide workwear services for the electronics industry. This electronic cleanroom utilizes 18-megohm RO ultrapure water and achieves a cleanliness level of ISO5. It is qualified for the high standards and requirements of the semiconductor and LCD industries. The cleanroom has a daily production capacity of up to 6,000 pieces of cleanroom clothing and will provide a one-stop workwear solution for electronic industry enterprises in Tianjin, Beijing, and surrounding cities.

The 19th TEDA Auto Forum Opens


From September 1 to September 3, the 19th International Forum (TEDA) on Chinese Automotive Industry Development was held in TEDA. This forum was jointly sponsored for the first time by Tianjin Municipal People’s Government, China Automotive Technology and Research Center Co., Ltd., China Society of Automotive Engineers, China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, and China Automotive News Agency. It is specially supported by the Tianjin Industrial and Information Technology Bureau and the TEDA Administrative Commission. Focusing on the annual theme of “New Future with High Quality”, this forum brought together more than 1200 guests, including leaders from national ministries and commissions, senior executives from domestic and foreign corporates, and experienced industry experts and scholars. It hosted a total of 14 conferences, delivering high-quality think tank results to support the development of China’s automotive industry.
