PPG Global Coatings Innovation Center Inaugurated in TEDA
PPG, a leading supplier in coatings and special materials worldwide, opened its Global Coatings Innovation Center (GCIC) in TEDA recently. This marks another milestone in PPG’s investment and development in China. The GCIC has a building area of approximately 30,000 square meters and is equipped with advanced technology and laboratory facilities. Its primary focus is on the research and development of paints, coatings, and special materials. This Center serves customers in various sectors including construction, consumer goods, industry, and transportation across China, the Asia-Pacific region, and even globally.
Tianjin ChinaCore Technology Expands High-End Chip Business in TEDA
Tianjin ChinaCore Technology Co., Ltd., an enterprise in TEDA, has added an investment of 150 million yuan. This investment will be used for designing SoCs (System-on-Chip) based on the high-end 64-bit RISC-V CPU platform. This chip model has wide-ranging applications, including in areas such as in-vehicle central computers, laptops, and thin clients. It will also serve as the main control chip for leading domestic automakers, further boosting the development of the automotive electronics industry in TEDA.
Geely’s Green Zero Carbon Methanol Fuels 19th Asian Games Ceremonial Torch
The 19th Asian Games officially commenced in Hangzhou. For the first time in the world, the main torch at the opening ceremony was ignited using carbon neutral methanol fuel provided by Geely Holding Group, along with technical solutions. The transportation support for this initiative was provided by Farizon G Heavy Truck from Geely’s Farizon Commercial Vehicles. Recently, Farizon Commercial Vehicles signed an agreement with TEDA to build its methanol-hydrogen ecological headquarters in the area. This project aims to carry out various activities, including methanol vehicle R&D, sales, and operation, methanol trading and refueling, and green methanol production. This will assist in the establishment of a scaled methanol industry ecosystem and create a new type of clean energy industrial system in Tianjin and even the Northern China.
TEDA-Made Drone Inspection System Safeguards Power Supply for Asian Games
TEDA Enterprise i-KINGTEC’s seven sets of “Hujing-Huxue” fixed autonomous drone inspection systems participated in ensuring the power supply for the Asian Games. These drones were deployed in the northern region of Hangzhou and covered a total of approximately 559 kilometers of power transmission lines. The operator can remotely launch the drones with a single click and practice high-frequency, routine, and unmanned inspections under system coverage. This system greatly improves efficiency, and saves labor costs.
Leading Medicinal Salt Enterprise Sees New Progress in Raw Pharmaceutical Materials Project in Nangang
The Nangang New Raw Pharmaceutical Materials Project of Tianjin Haiguang Technology Development Co., Ltd. has started construction. With a total investment of nearly 100 million yuan, this project will establish a raw pharmaceutical materials plant integrating R&D, production, and storage. Its main products include various raw pharmaceutical materials such as potassium chloride, magnesium chloride, and calcium chloride. The annual production capacity is expected to reach 7,000 tons after going into production. The project is scheduled to be completed in December 2024.
TEDA Sees an Indigenous Developed Product Put on the Market
A TEDA-based company, SINOMED, obtained domestic medical device registration certificate for its Tradent scoring balloon catheter. This marks the first medical device registration certificate granted in China for such a domestically indigenous developed product. The product is primarily used in PTCA (percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty) to expand and treat narrow vascular lesions. Once the product is on the market, it will effectively meet clinical needs and reduce the risk of complications such as vascular perforation and damage to the normal vascular wall during surgery.
Beijing Gas Tianjin Nangang LNG Terminal Officially Opens
Beijing Gas (Tianjin) LNG Co., Ltd. officially opened its LNG berth to the public. The LNG berth has a total length of 425 meters, a designed annual unloading capacity of 5 million tons, and can accommodate LNG vessels of up to 266,000 cubic meters. With this, the Dagang port where this project is located has become the first port in China to have three LNG berths operating simultaneously. This will further enhance the LNG supply capacity in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and support the development of green chemical industry in TEDA.
