FAW-Volkswagen Reinvests Over 2.3 Billion Yuan in TEDA! Three New SUV Models to Be Launched in TEDA

TEDA Administrative Commission and FAW-Volkswagen Automotive Co., Ltd. signed an investment cooperation agreement for the introduction of three new vehicle models. FAW-Volkswagen will reinvest more than 2.3 billion yuan to introduce three SUV models under the Audi and Volkswagen brands at the FAW-Volkswagen Tianjin Branch, two of which will be new energy vehicles. These models are expected to go into production successively from 2026 and will increase the production value of Tianjin’s auto parts companies by about 10 billion yuan.

Digital Content Headquarters of Shenzhen Unilumin Technology Established in TEDA

A cooperation agreement has been signed between Shenzhen Unilumin Group Co., Ltd. and TEDA Administrative Commission. Unilumin will establish its only wholly-owned subsidiary in north China in Tianjin. It will be a Digital Content Headquarters project, focusing primarily on digital content creation and related services. The two parties will jointly develop a first-class industrial platform that integrates digital content production, debugging, experience, and display, to build a complete digital content industry ecosystem. Unilumin’s Tianjin subsidiary has now completed its registration and is expected to start operations this year.

Mars Pet Food Tianjin Factory Starts Production in TEDA

The Mars Pet Food Tianjin Factory has started production in TEDA. It is one of Mars’ largest and most advanced modern pet food factories, with a total investment of nearly 1 billion RMB. The Tianjin factory primarily focuses on the R&D and production of a wide range of pet food products, including dry food, wet food, and treats. The annual production capacity can exceed 250,000 tons at full capacity. Currently, the dry food production line has successfully started, and the treats production line is expected to be operational in the second half of the year. Future plans include further investment to introduce a wet food production line.

Asymchem Completes Acquisition of Its First European R&D and Manufacturing Base

TEDA-based Asymchem Inc. has acquired the API Pilot Plant and R&D Laboratory at the former Pfizer UK Sandwich Site. This acquisition marks the establishment of Asymchem’s first R&D and manufacturing base in Europe. From June 2024, Asymchem will fully take over the R&D center and production facilities at the Sandwich Site, as well as the technical and management team previously working for Pfizer UK. This will further strengthen Asymchem’s global supply capabilities in the CDMO sector.

TEDA-Made Again Breaks World Record in Heavy-Duty AGV

TEDA’s Tianjin Lonyu Robot Co., Ltd. has successfully launched and delivered its newly developed 600 ton heavy-duty AGV. This product has once again broken the company’s own world record in the heavy-duty AGV industry. This heavy-duty AGV is 8.5 meters long, 4.54 meters wide, and 1.1 meters high. It can reach a speed of 20 meters per minute with a maximum payload of 600 tons, and has a battery life of more than 8 hours. It features flexibility and remote control capabilities, capable of performing various movements such as rotation, lateral movement, diagonal movement, and serpentine turning.

TEDA Enterprise Jingxinwei Completes B-Round Financing

Jingxinwei Electronics Technology (Tianjin) Co., Ltd., a TEDA-based company, has completed B Round Financing of over 100 million yuan. This round of financing will provide support and secure the company’s product R&D, team building, and market expansion. Founded in 2020 in TEDA, Jingxinwei is dedicated to the R&D, production, and sales of core chips for China’s new infrastructure construction. The company has developed several domestic breakthrough chips, including the NRS1800-RapidIO switch chip and the PRB0400 bridge chip.

TEDA’s Smart Environmental Protection Platform Ranked in National List

The Ministry of Ecology and Environment has released a series of exemplary cases of achievements in digital ecological civilization. The TEDA Smart Environmental Protection Platform, which aims to promote “ecology + economy” through smart environmental protection, was successfully selected. The platform constructs a comprehensive, multi-level, three-dimensional, and fully-covered ecological environmental monitoring network. It is a significant measure by TEDA to expand the application scenarios of digital technologies in ecological environmental protection. It fully demonstrates the innovative application achievements of TEDA’s ecological environment big data.

The 2024 Tianjin Binhai Dragon Boat Championship Has Ended

The 2024 Tianjin Binhai New Area Dragon Boat Championship kicked off on the Haihe River in the Yu-Xiang (Yujiapu-Xiangluowan) Area of TEDA. The event brought together 37 teams and over 800 athletes from various districts and towns in Binhai New Area to celebrate the Dragon Boat Festival. The annual event was hosted by the Tianjin Binhai New Area People’s Government and organized by the Tianjin Binhai New Area Education and Sports Bureau, TEDA Administrative Commission, and the Tianjin Binhai New Area Labor Union.
