WED Publicity and Education Events Held in TEDA

On May 9th, 2025, to welcome the 2025 World Environment Day and the International Day for Biological Diversity, TEDA organized a “Harmonious Coexistence between Man and Nature” observation activity for representatives of enterprises, schools and other groups within the area. It is the first event of TEDA's 2025 World Environment Day publicity and educational activities. Through a three-dimensional linkage of science popularization training, on-site observation and cross-sector exchange, it showcased the area’s exploration and achievements in biodiversity conservation. 

In the Nangang Industrial Zone of TEDA, staffs gave a science popularization lecture systematically explaining the basic knowledge of birds in the Bohai Bay and the biodiversity conservation work of TEDA. The vice chairman of the Binhai New Area Photographers Association shared his feelings about photographing the migration of wetland birds in Binhai New Area and demonstrated professional bird photography techniques. An employee of Power China (Tianjin) introduced the Nangang Offshore Wind Turbine Project, which consists of 18 units with a total installed capacity of 90,000 kilowatts. It was connected to the grid at the end of December 2018, with a designed annual grid-connected electricity of 177 million kilowatt-hours. This project is a successful practice of the coordinated development of the new energy industry and ecological protection in TEDA. 

The TEDA 2025 World Environment Day activities will last for a month starting from the beginning of May, targeting multiple groups such as enterprises, communities and schools. It will promote the concept of ecological civilization and thoroughly integrate the element of “Love in Beautiful TEDA”. The activities include the “Harmonious Coexistence between Man and Nature” observation activity, the “Novo Nordisk Cup” bird photography competition, the release of the AI enterprise environmental protection work manual, the industrial tour observation and opening of environmental protection facilities, the environmental protection carnival of low-carbon walkathon and a series of promotional activities. It calls on everyone to take active actions and join hands to build a beautiful TEDA.
