TEDA Joins Hands with a WEF Strategic Partner
As the 2025 Summer Davos unveils its curtain, TEDA welcomed a new investor who is a strategic partner of the World Economic Forum - the Wipro Limited. On June 23, the memorandum of cooperation signing ceremony for the Wipro Tianjin Software and Information Technology Service Center project was held in TEDA. Jin Xianghua, Vice Chairman of TEDA Administrative Commission, attended the signing ceremony and delivered a speech. Relevant persons-in-charge from TEDA Pharmaceuticals and Healthcare Industry Promotion Bureau and James Arnett, Managing Partner, Asia-Pacific of Wipro, as well as other related corporate leaders, attended the signing event.
As the fourth delivery center established by Wipro in China, the Tianjin delivery center is located in the Tianhe Science and Technology Park in TEDA, with a total investment of 16.25 million US dollars. Once operational, the Tianjin delivery center will leverage Tianjin’s strategic position as a northern economic hub and port city to provide high-quality software and information technology services to enterprises in North China, especially in Tianjin. It will gradually expand its customer service to various industries, including finance, insurance, healthcare, IT, and manufacturing, and engage in in-depth cooperation with world-renowned consulting firms, banks, software companies, and manufacturing enterprises.
Jin Xianghua, Vice Chairman of TEDA Administrative Commission, stated that as a globally leading technology service and consulting company, Wipro Limited has significant advantages in the information service field. TEDA is an important gathering place for foreign-funded enterprises in China. By the end of 2024, it had cumulatively introduced 6,531 foreign-funded projects from 97 countries and regions, among which 124 Fortune 500 multinational companies had invested in 601 projects. Such a bountiful concentration of high-quality corporate resources will provide extensive cooperation opportunities for Wipro Limited. She emphasized that TEDA will continue to optimize the business environment and fully support enterprises in connecting with high-quality local resources in finance healthcare and manufacturing, promoting mutually beneficial and win-win development.
James Arnett, Managing Partner, Asia-Pacific of Wipro, said that the delivery center is Wipro’s first investment in Tianjin and an important strategic move for Wipro in Northern China. It will continue to enhance Wipro’s business expansion in North China and its ability to serve customers in China.
