TEDA Selected in the First Batch of National Zero-Carbon Industrial Park Development List

On December 26,  TEDA was successfully selected in the national zero-carbon industrial park development list released by the National Development and Reform Commission.

As one of China's national-level development zones with the largest economic scale, highest degree of export-oriented economy, and most favorable comprehensive investment environment, TEDA pursues development while prioritizing ecology. It has established an industrial structure featuring “4+1” pillar industries and achieved an industrial output value of 544.25 billion yuan from large-scale enterprises in 2024. Throughout this process, TEDA has consistently treated the concept of green development as the foundation for high-quality growth, earning numerous green accolades such as a member of the first batch of  National Eco-industrial Demonstration Park, National Circular Economy Pilot Park, and Global Sustainable Development Goals Demonstration Zone.

TEDA initiated top-level design research for carbon peaking in 2020, promoting low-carbon development in manufacturing, low-carbon energy transition, carbon peaking in urban renewal, green and low-carbon technological innovation, financial innovation to support carbon peaking goals, active participation in international cooperation, and comprehensive enhancement of management. Several key projects have been launched to support the achievement of carbon reduction targets. In 2025, TEDA was successfully selected for the national carbon peaking pilot list, becoming the first park in Tianjin to receive this honor.

Since the beginning of 2025, TEDA has commenced construction on the smart energy long-duration energy storage power station, Tianjin's first project of such kind, completed the country's first cold and heat energy exchange station, and upgraded and issued the TEDA Green and Low-Carbon Promotion Measures. Such efforts vigorously advanced industrial transformation and upgrading. Based on regional development characteristics, TEDA is taking the lead in exploring the transformation of TEDA East into a zero-carbon park. By coordinating efforts in energy supply, transmission and distribution, consumption, and management, the park aims to fully achieve zero-carbon status by 2030.
