One More Auto Industry Project Starts in TEDA
Tianjin Hengxing Weima Steel Processing Co., Ltd. started its factory construction project on July 8. Located in the FAW-Volkswagen North China Base in TEDA, the project has a total investment of 100 million yuan. It is designed to provide services such as uncoiling, shearing, and warehousing and distribution of steel materials for various models at the base. The project will have an annual processing capacity of steel materials for 2 million passenger vehicles, with a storage capacity of up to 200,000 tons per year. This will further meet the needs of industrial layout and process extension service for the FAW-Volkswagen North China Base, serving as a beneficial addition to the automotive manufacturing industry chain in TEDA.
Since its production in 2018, the FAW-Volkswagen North China Base has become a significant hub for the automotive industry in TEDA, attracting a number of parts suppliers. Currently, the base hosts 28 local suppliers, driving employment for 60,000 people in the upstream and downstream sectors of Tianjin’s automotive industry chain.
