TEDA’s Long March-8 Carrier Rocket Makes Maiden Flight

On December 22nd, China’s new medium-lift carrier rocket Long March-8 made its maiden flight, sending five satellites into planned orbit. The rocket blasted off from the Wenchang Spacecraft Launch Site on the coast of southern China’s island province of Hainan. The rocket was born in Industrialization Base for New-gen Carrier Rocket in TEDA.

Recently, Tianjin FAW Toyota Motor Co., Ltd., an enterprise in TEDA, has been recognized as “regional headquarters of multinational corporation” by Tianjin Commission of Commerce. So far, there are 16 enterprises recognized in Tianjin, and  8 TEDA’s enterprises are on the list.

The Highest-Single-Output Cracking Furnace in China Installed in TEDA

On December 25th, in 1,300KTA DBN project of SSTPC (which is an expansion project based on existing 1,000KTA ET plant to increase the ethylene capacity to 1,300KTA through debottlenecking), a cracking furnace with 200KTA capacity realized midterm handover. This is also the cracking furnace with the largest single output in China at present. After the production of the project, it will directly drive downstream industries with a value of over 10 billion yuan.

TEDA’s Enterprises Join Talents Alliance

On December 26th, the inaugural meeting of Tianjin Biomedical Talents Innovation and Entrepreneurship Alliance was held in the Tianjin Binhai New Area. There are 200 members in the first batch, and 51 TEDA’s enterprises joined the alliance.
