Volkswagen Establishes R&D Center in TEDA


Volkswagen (China) Technology Co., Ltd. Tianjin Branch was established in TEDA, marking the official commencement of operations. The new company serves as a crucial auto components R&D institution for Volkswagen. Volkswagen (China) Technology Co., Ltd. Tianjin Branch will focus on the development of new energy vehicle powertrain components. Through in-depth collaboration with component enterprises in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, it aims to strengthen Volkswagen’s R&D and production capabilities in key components of new energy vehicles, and make Tianjin an important base of component R&D and production for Volkswagen in China.

TEDA Inks Investment Agreements with PipeChina


TEDA Administrative Commission signed investment cooperation agreements with four secondary headquarters entities of PipeChina (China Oil & Gas Pipeline Network Corporation). Specifically, these four companies are: PipeChina Storage and Transportation Technology Development Company, PipeChina Scientific and Technological Research Institute Branch, PipeChina Engineering Technology Innovation Company, and PipeChina LNG Receiving Terminal Management Branch. PipeChina plans to establish a secondary headquarters base in TEDA and a comprehensive research facility integrating scientific research, testing and verification, and achievement incubation, promotion & application. With these, PipeChina aims to create an energy pipeline business ecosystem for market development, scientific and technological R&D, and storage and transportation technology services in the Bohai Sea Rim, and ultimately foster an energy hub in the region.

TEDA to Build a Comprehensive Ecosystem for Game Industry


TEDA Administrative Commission signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Unity China and Tianjin Publishing & Media Group. The three parties will leverage their respective strengths to establish a platform in TEDA, integrating game development, publishing, and regulatory filing. This initiative aims to construct a comprehensive ecosystem for the game industry in TEDA. Founded in 2004, Unity is a global leading digitized platform with real-time graphics rendering technology at its core. Unity’s technology and solutions are widely used in various fields, including game, film and animation, automotive, and architecture.

Binhai Construction & Investment Group to Build HQ in Yuxiang Area


TEDA Administrative Commission signed an investment cooperation agreement with Tianjin Binhai New Area Construction Investment Group Co., Ltd. The Binhai Construction & Investment Group plans to build a headquarters building in the Yuxiang Area of TEDA in 2024. Both parties will focus on developing new quality productive forces and collaborate in areas such as sci-tech innovation services, industrial investment, new infrastructure construction, urban renewal, and asset management.

Minth’s North China HQ Opens in TEDA


Minth Group’s North China Headquarters Base project officially commenced operation in TEDA Industrial Park. With a total investment of approximately 1 billion yuan, the project integrates Minth Group’s new business in metal exterior auto parts and new energy battery compartments. It is a modern digital factory that combines smart interconnectivity, intelligent ecology, and industrial experience. After the project goes into mass production, it is expected to produce 150,000 units of new energy battery compartments and 90,000 units of structural components annually. The products will mainly be supplied to automobile manufacturers such as Beijing Benz, BAIC BJEV, and Great Wall Motor.

SEW-China Supply Chain Conference Held in TEDA


The first session of the 2024 Multinational Enterprise Supply Chain Conference & “Invest in Tianjin” Series SEW-Eurodrive Special Session was successfully held in TEDA. 50 premium core suppliers and over 100 representatives from across China attended the event. During the special session, TEDA provided a comprehensive promotion of the region and released tailored preferential policies for SEW suppliers. TEDA is the birthplace of SEW-China. SEW not only established its manufacturing hub of Asia-Pacific region in TEDA but also located its Chinese headquarters here. Its new intelligent assembly hub project is expected to be completed and put into operation in May 2024.

TEDA Enterprise to Mass Produce High-Purity Hydrogen Bromide


The high-purity hydrogen bromide products independently developed and produced by Linggas Tianjin Co., Ltd., a TEDA company, have passed certification from domestic well-known chip enterprises such as Yangtze Memory, SMIC, HLMC, and Huahong Grace, and are about to begin mass production. This marks the successful completion of domestic substitution for high-purity hydrogen bromide by Linggas. With an annual output of up to 300 tons, Linggas will provide reliable high-purity hydrogen bromide for domestic semiconductor end-users.

Tianjin Releases the First Data Classification and Grading Standards for FTZs in China


Tianjin Municipal Bureau of Commerce and China (Tianjin) Pilot Free Trade Zone Administrative Commission jointly released the Enterprise Data Classification and Grading Standards in China (Tianjin) Pilot Free Trade Zone, which is the first national standard specification for data classification and grading in FTZs. It divides enterprise data into three levels, comprising 13 major categories and 40 subcategories. Generally, it provides guidance for corporate data classification and grading, promotes the orderly flow of enterprise data with security, and drives the development of the digital economy.
