TEDA Hosts the "Firefly Program" Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Energy Storage Technology Event

On June 30, the "Firefly Program" Innovation Achievement Matchmaking Series—Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Energy Storage Technology Event was held in TEDA. Themed "Gathering Strength for the New Energy Storage Track, Manufacturing an Intelligent Low-Carbon Future", the event drew over 120 representatives from research institutes, universities, industry chain enterprises, industrial parks, and industry associations across the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, aiming to build a bridge for precise industry-university-research cooperation, drive the commercialization of energy storage innovations, and inject scientific momentum into TEDA’s cultivation of new productive forces and accelerated green transition.
During the event, Liu Zhuyan, Member of the CPC Leadership Group and Vice Chairman of the Binhai New Area CPPCC, as well as Secretary of the CPC Leadership Group and Director of the Binhai New Area Science and Technology Bureau, along with Yang Lin, Member of the TEDA CPC Standing Committee and Vice Chairman of the TEDA Administrative Commission, delivered speeches. Li Xianfeng, Deputy Director of the Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, gave a keynote speech. Du Wei, Deputy Dean of the College of Chemical Engineering and Materials and the College of Energy Storage at Tianjin University of Science and Technology, announced newly established academic majors related to the field.
During the session for technological innovation results, 6 groundbreaking energy storage achievements were showcased, spanning materials, technologies, systems, and application scenarios. These new technologies include silica-based flexible protective technology for lithium battery safety, breakthroughs in large-scale flow battery energy storage stations integrated with chemical engineering technologies, and electrical new energy solutions. They collectively demonstrate the vibrant technological innovation within the emerging energy storage track.
During the session for application scenarios, 7 leading enterprises and park vehicles concurrently unveiled diverse implementation scenarios and technological requirements, facilitating two-way matchmaking between technology supply and industrial demand. Notably, Contemporary Green Energy, a subsidiary of CATL, shared its practices in AI-powered zero-carbon solutions; Tianjin TEDA Electric Power released scenarios for long-duration energy storage stations; and Tianjin Huaheng New Materials outlined its requirements for zero-carbon factory construction, providing a wealth of venues for technological innovation to take root.
In addition, the event also featured sessions for sharing practical case studies and policy briefings, providing participating companies with replicable implementation models and clear policy guidance for their future development.
